A traveller from Canada visiting another country may end up getting injured or having some other kind of medical emergency while there and be forced to access the local health care system. However, nowadays some travellers are choosing their destination specifically to get some kind of elective surgery or other operation and treatment.

We want to make it very clear that there are definitely some potential dangers with this practice and you should be fully aware of them before you depart.
